There are three consecutive locks on the Tenn-Tom that have to be completed in the same stretch, as there is no good place to anchor in between them. It starts with the Whitten Lock, followed by the Montgomery and Rankin Locks. We continued on through the Fulton Lock, stopping (with permission from the Wilkins Lock Master) in an anchorage just around the side of the Wilkins Lock. While it is only a 35 mile run, each Lock is a stop, wait, enter, lower, and exit. We ran 7 hours and anchored in time to see the setting sun.
